16 Free, Fun Activities to do with Kids

Here are 16 free things to do with your kids (or grandkids.) Most of these free kid’s activities are held year round so you may want to book mark this post!

Bass Pro Shops is offering free Easter activities for kids. Today only (4/17) they can decorate an Easter Egg from noon – 3 pm. Next week, from April 22 – April 24th, they can make a Foam Magnet Easter Egg Decoration on Friday from 6-8 pm and Saturday and Sunday, from noon – 3 pm.

Kids can get a free 4×6 photo with the Easter Bunny until April 24, 2011 on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 am – 3 pm and Monday – Friday from 6 to 8 pm.

They can go on an Easter Egg Hunt on April 23rd and April 24th. It begins at 1 pm and lasts for 1 hour. This is suitable for ages 2-10. Register at the entrance to get bag and instructions. Kids find 5 eggs and exchange them for candy-filled eggs.

Kids Workshops at Home Depot - held the 1st Saturday of the month from 9 am to 12 noon. Each child gets an orange Home Depot apron and completes a building project.

Free building projects for kids at Lowe’s - “Build and Grow” workshops are held every other Saturday from 10 am to 11 am. The first 50 kids to register and be present at the store, receive the free building kit, goggles,an apron, a project patch, and a certificate of completion.

Free Museum Days  from Target. You can also get free passes to over 2,200 events and reduced price performance each year. Over 120 museums and cultural organizations are part of this free program. 

Free Museum Days  from Bank of America. The first weekend of each month, gain one free general admission to over 100 participating museums when you show your Bank of America card.

Pottery Barn Kids Club -lots of free activities like free story time, Mother’s Day Doll Tea Party, Father’s Day LEGO Jams, and National Geographic Explorers Club.

Free Audio Stories  from Story Nory-can be downloaded to your iPod or MP3 player. Many classics available for free.

Overdrive.com - check out library books,eBooks, audiobooks and more - free service from 8,500 public libraries.

Kids Bowl Free - two free games of bowling all summer at www.kidsbowlfree.com.

Chuck E. Cheese’s -  earn free tokens with good grades and completing the free rewards calendar.

Michael’s - join “The Knack” for free craft days, usually every other Saturday from 10 am to 1 pm.

Free movies for good grades at Blockbuster Video - earn 1 free rental each grading period.

Free movie ticket with cereal purchase - check these specially marked packages!
