Best Buy’s Trade-In Program

Best Buy has a two-tiered trade in program for your old electronics. With either program you can get  a Best Buy gift card for your trade in. The first and most lucrative offer is for Apple iPods, Apple Laptops, Mobile Phones and PC Laptops, purchased at Best Buy. You can use the online estimator  to determine the value before you decide to trade it in at Best Buy.

For this program, you will need a receipt. However, Best Buy will  try to help you to locate your purchase in their computer system if you cannot find your receipt. Only the original purchaser is eligible for the gift card.

The second program is for almost all other types of electronics, regardless of where they were purchased. Go to the Best Buy online estimator and type in the information about your product. You will get an an estimate of the trade-in value. If the amount is acceptable to you, you will print out a pre-paid shipping label and mail the item to the Trade-In Center. A Best Buy gift card will be mailed to you about 14 days after the receipt of your item.
