Bank of America, $100 for New Checking Account

If you open up a new checking account with Bank of America , they will deposit $100 into your account within 90 days. The offer seems pretty straightforward. You need to have a minimum balance of $500, have the checking account open for at least 30 days and make at least 1 transaction with the new check card that will be issued to you.

You must not have had a closed account with Bank of America within the last 3 months. The offer expires 2/28/10 and there is one per household.

Seeing More With Less Today mentioned in the San Francisco Chronicle put a spring in my step this morning! My blog was listed along with some of the “big boys!” HERE is the link to the story in the “Dollars and Cents” column titled “Money-Saving Sites to Check Out.” There are other useful sites mentioned in the story. I have written about several of them like Gazelle and Last Minute and I plan to look at the rest soon.

My goal is to make More with Less Today a “one stop shop” for all of the best and current money saving ideas. As a new “empty-nester”, I have now have the time to do the research. When my kids were under the roof, it was a good day when I had dinner on the table.

I am working on a new design theme for More With Less Today. Soon you will be seeing a magazine-style home page where you can access many stories without having to search through the archives. Stay tuned!

I have heard that there were great deals to be had by purchasing furniture in North Carolina at a place callled High Point. About 50% of the nation’s furniture is produced within a 200 mile radius in North Carolina.

Yesterday, the Today Show did a segment on one store, Boyle’s and I took a tour of their website. If you are going to be purchasing furniture, you need to take a look at the discounts on the Boyles website. Boyle’s advertises 40% to 50% off retail and I saw some beautiful furniture for great prices on their site. Be sure and click on the “Online Furniture Outlet” tab at the top of the site. According to the Today Show segment, this online outlet is updated frequently. A name brand designer mirror was selling for $99.00.

Boyles will ship their furniture to you with their “white glove” service. You can get a free price quote online and browse through their online catalog.

After factoring in the shipping costs, you will need to crunch the numbers. However, printing out the pictures and the prices on this site can be a great negotiating tool is you are shopping for furniture.

Here are just a few of the top brand names that they carry: Kreiss, La Barge, Hooker, Hickory White, Hendredon, Martha Stewart Signature, Baker, Bob Timberlake and Century.
