Here are some great resources for my readers who are college students and for the people who love them! From movie ticket discounts, eating out, buying and selling textbooks, travel deals, and entertainment, I will cover them all. I am the parent of a college student, so I will be working hard to update and improve this blog post.

Selling your textbooks for cash - I use this site because they aggregate all the major booksellers, so you can see “at a glance” who will give you the best price for your unwanted textbooks. While you are selling and mailing your books, offer to sell back books of your friends. Share  the profits with them and box them up together and mail them in. Click here for more details.

Buying textbooks for less: Do NOT buy your books from the campus bookstore. You can save hundreds of dollars and then sell them back for top dollar. I love this site because you can see all of your options including eBooks, and Chegg for book rental. Often renting your textbooks is the cheapest option. Here is an  ISBN numbers of one of my daughter’s textbooks and some price comparisons:

ISBN: 9780769301693 University Bookstore price $218.25 new and $163.75 used. At CampusBooks.com, this book is $46.32 to rent it or $67.53 to purchase at half.com. At Amazon.com this book is selling for $71.68. Using Campusbooks.com would save you  $171.93 if you rent it and return it, and save you $150.72 if you purchase it. That is the savings on just 1 book!  Click here for more details

Free and Discounted Movie Tickets - 8 ways to get free movie tickets or deeply discounted tickets. Don’t pay full price!

The Entertainment Book - Hundreds of discounts on fast food dining, restaurants, movie tickets, travel, and so much more. Buy one and keep it handy. this will pay for itself many times over.

Swagbucks- so easy to do simple “Google searches” here and earn free Starbucks, Target, Amazon.com gift cards and many other free gift cards. I use this all the time! It’s free to use and to redeem your free gift cards.

Groupons - get a daily email with discounts in your area up to 90% on dining out, entertainment, services and more. I also wrote about several other similar “daily deal” sites that you can preview using your zip code.
