Donation Town – Today’s Good Deed

Do you have unwanted items to donate to a worthy charity? Use the DonationTown website to find your charity of choice, charities that pick up items for free, acceptable items wanted by individual charities and schedule a pick up right from their website. The charities will also provide an IRS tax-deduction receipt for your donations.

Often, we let unwanted items accumulate because we don’t know which charities would want our stuff and we are too busy to drop them off. DonationTown overcomes both of those obstacles, so you can be clutter-free in no time and our local charities will be blessed.

You can choose from over 300 charities in their network and support charities benefitting veterans, charities that benefit cancer and other medical conditions, charities that support the homeless and many more. You can search their database and find your favorite one. I read about DonationTown in the May 2011 Family Circle Magazine.

If you are a regular reader than you know that I am an advocate of making this a family affair. Have the kids go through their clothes, bookshelves, and toy boxes. Let them get involved in picking the charity to donate to.

My new category Today’s Good Deed  is where you will find more ways to bless others without spending a lot of time or money.
