Last June, I purchased a Kindle for my daughter as a high school graduation gift. She enjoys using it for her required reading and also reads and stores books for enjoyment in her spare time. I purchased the smaller Kindle that retails for $259 called the Global Wireless with a 6″ display. The Kindle fits easily into a purse or small bag. The price has really dropped:

I did not know that you can download these e-books to your PC witht the free software from Amazon.com. You may want to try downloading one of the free books to see if you like reading on your PC. According to the Amazon.com website, this will be available on Macs in the near future.
