*Expired….Here are free summer family movies and discount movie tickets. If you are a frequent movie goer, you know those tickets can add up! Plan ahead and SAVE. I found 7 ways to save money on movie tickets, from FREE to CHEAP.

 

 

 

 

 

 

1. Every Tuesday and Wednesday from June 15th through August 11th, 2010, Regal Cinemas will have a FREE Family Film Festival showing selected G and PG movies.

When you search for your local Regal Cinema, (choose select a state), you will see the specific schedule for your theater.

HERE is the list of some  the FREE movies:

Charlotte’s Web (G)

Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs (PG)

Wallace and Gromit (G)

Monsters vs Aliens (PG)

Curious George (G)

Jonah: A Veggie Tales Movie (G)

Seating is first- come first- served and is limited to the number of seats in the theater.

2. KGB Deals offers movie tickets for $4.00 in selected major cities. You purchase the tickets online and they are mailed to you. They are valid in the following movie theaters: AMC, Loew’s, Cineplex Odean, Magic Johnson, and Star. Canadian theaters are excluded and there may be an additional charge for 3D or IMAX movies. You can check the website for more details for the city nearest you:

San Francisco
Washington DC

3. You can pre-purchase discounted movie tickets to most of the major theater chains at  Bulktix. Participating theater chains are AMC, Cinemark, Cobb, Landmark, Bowtie, Pacific Theaters and Regal Entertainment Group.

There are two types of discounted movie tickets available for purchase, a Value ticket which has some restrictions and an Ultimate ticket which has no restrictions and no blackout dates. A Value ticket at AMC theaters will cost you $7.49 and an Ultimate Ticket at AMC theaters will cost you $8.99.

The website is easy to navigate and understand but the FAQ’s section needs some work.

4. See the New Angelina Jolie movie, “Salt” for 1/2 price. Get one free ticket when you purchase one ticket with a Visa Signature card through Fandango. Salt will be in theaters starting 7/23/10 and purchases must be made by 8/8/10. Thanks Saving With Shellie! See the details HERE.

 5. Costco - you can purchase discounted movie tickets at Costco and online. There are 3 choices: AMC 4 tickets for $34.99 ($8.75 each), Regal Premier Super Saver, 4 tickets for $29.99 ($7.50 each) or Regal Ultimate Premier for $29.99, get 2 tickets and a $10 concession gift card.

6. Purchase an Entertainment Book - The movie ticket discounts alone will cover the cost of the books. My teen uses this and saves $3.00 per movie ticket. There are tons of restaurnat and fast food deals too. Before your purchase, preview the book by typing in your zip code. The 2010 book deals do not expire until November, 2010.

The summertime is the perfect time to get your money’s worth on dining out, (fast food to fancy restaurants), travel and entertainment like movies, bowling, miniature golf and family activities. There are hundreds of 50% off and 2 for 1 discounts available. You can preview it online by typing in your zip code to see the local restaurants and retailers that offer discounts. Here are some of the national retailers that offer discounts in the Entertainment Book: Borders, American Airlines, Cost Plus World Market, Bristol Farms, Gamefly.com, Burger King, KFC, Domino’s Pizza, McDonald’s, Subway, Taco Bell, the UPS Store and Walgreens.


7. Blockbuster is offering a free DVD rental for your child’s good grades. Your student can get one free DVD rental with a B average or better, on their report card. Multiple students from the same family are all eligible.
