With your Upromise account, the rebates that you earn can add up quickly. You can choose to set up a 529 college savings plan, pay down a Sallie Mae student loan or receive a check for college expenses. I now have a daughter in college and wish I would have started my Upromise account a long time ago. Even if you only save enough to pay for their books by using this free program, trust me, you will be delighted that you took the time to set this up.
Spend a few minutes on the site and see all the different ways build your college savings account. I recommend taking a few minutes to sign up for the e-Coupons. E-Coupons are automatically added to your grocery store affinity card. You simply click on the coupons that you want to use and then when you swipe your card at check-out, those coupons are automatically added to your Upromise college savings account. You can also stack these coupons with manufacturers coupons. The Upromise coupons are deposited into your account so they are not considered duplicates. You can have immediate savings with your manufacturers coupons and long-term savings with your Upromise e-Coupons for the same product.
Here are additional ways to earn rebates:
You can shop online at over 6,000 stores like Target.com,homedepot.com, BestBuy.com, Apple and more with 1-25% rebated to your account. There are also over 8,000 participating restaurants that will credit up to 8% to your college saving account and you can also link your drugstore affinity cards.
Grandma and Grandpa and other family members and friends can link their accounts to your child’s account. If you won’t be paying for college in the future, you can set up an account for a special child in your life.
I have learned that saving money begins with a series of small steps and using a Upromise account is one of the easiest ways I know to start an education fund for college without any sacrifice.
