For a limited time, if you join Hertz GoldPlus program here you will get 500 bonus points which is enough for a free weekend day car rental. The membership is good for one year.

The regular price is $60 per year, so be sure and cancel if you don’t want it to renew. The deal for the free membership ends on 12/15/11. If you are not a Hertz Gold Member, you will need to join first (it’s free) before you can upgrade to the Hertz Gold Plus membership, also free through 12/15/11.

The 500 points will take up to 4 weeks be added to your account, so plan accordingly. You can skip the rental counter with the GoldPlus membership.

Now if they can just do something about all those fees…not just Hertz. It’s a rant of mine when a $30 a day rental doubles after all the taxes and fees.
