As expected, the airlines are having a “fare war” right now and the winner is the consumer. I wrote about the Southwest special for $25.00 to $100.00 per ticket yesterday and today several other airlines have announced some of the lowest prices that I have seen in awhile.

AirTran is offering one-way fares of $39 on short trips and this offer expires November 10, 2009. Frontier Airlines and JetBlue are matching these low prices on some routes.
