Today’s Good Deed

Today is a good day for More With Less Today. I am launching my new Grocery Coupon Database, which is amazing, I must say. You will find it on the home page of my site. Just type in the name of the grocery coupon you need, and the Grocery Coupon Database will help you to locate it, and if it available as a printable coupon, **you can print it right out.

My second new feature that I am launching today is a category called “Today’s Good Deed.” This category will feature easy and inexpensive ways to bless someone else. From free deals that you can donate, ways to encourage and support our military and their families, companies doing good that merit our support, and spending our dollars where they will do the most good, this category was one of the primary reasons that I started this blog.

I was blessed to have generous parents. My Dad was a school teacher and my Mom was a homemaker to four children. We didn’t have much, but we didn’t lack for anything. My Mom was famous for giving “just a few dollars” and she would always say “I can’t do much but I want to do something.” She taught us through her actions and she made  helping others a priority for our family.

Often when our budgets are stretched to the max, our generosity takes a back seat to just trying to get by. Our children need to learn to be ”other-oriented” and much of that is demonstrated at home.

I will be sharing simple ways to help others and posting them in the category, “Today’s Good Deed.” I hope you will consider trying some of these ideas as a family and sharing your ideas too.

Here is one to get us started, again from my sweet mother. When clipping coupons, always cut out the diaper coupons. If you don’t have a little one in diapers, these coupons are like “found money” for a young family. You can put them in an envelope and give them away, give them to an organization that helps new mothers, or simply leave them on the shelf next to the diapers in the grocery store for some grateful mom to discover! Let the kids clip these coupons and get involved in giving them away too.

**My Grocery Coupon Database  is linked to several sources for printable coupons like Coupons.com, CouponNetwork and SavingStar. The first time you use these sites, you will be instructed to click on and install a printer driver. It is easy and safe. This is needed to print out the UPC codes so the coupons will scan at the store.
